The Beginning

I started Eyebroadband in 2016 from a small shop in Kurla West, Mumbai. I was 22 years old with no investors, no team, and no business plan. Just a strong internet connection, a MikroTik router, and the belief that I could deliver better broadband than what was available in my area.

The first few months were brutal. I would climb poles in the rain to lay cables, handle customer complaints at midnight, and troubleshoot network issues during festivals when everyone else was celebrating. There were times when I questioned whether this was worth it. But every time a customer said "your internet is the best I have ever used," it kept me going.

Learning the Hard Way

Nobody taught me how to run an ISP. I learned MikroTik RouterOS by reading forums at 2 AM. I learned about BGP peering by breaking my own network and fixing it. I learned fiber splicing by watching YouTube videos and practicing on spare cables until I got it right.

Every mistake became a lesson. When a monsoon destroyed half my fiber network in 2017, I learned to build redundant paths. When I lost customers to a bigger ISP, I learned that service quality beats low pricing every time. When a billing dispute nearly cost me my biggest business client, I learned to put everything in writing.

The Pivot to Software

By 2019, the broadband business was stable but I wanted to do more. I had always been interested in coding, and the Shopify platform caught my attention. Merchants needed custom apps, but most developers were either too expensive or did not understand e-commerce. I saw a gap and decided to fill it.

My first Shopify app was a simple promotion banner tool. I built it in two weeks, published it on the App Store, and got my first install within 24 hours. That feeling of building something that people actually used was addictive. I kept building. Discount banners, subscription widgets, then the more complex Multistore Sync app. Each project taught me something new about the Shopify API, React, Node.js, and how to build products that scale.

Embracing AI Early

When ChatGPT launched, I immediately saw the potential. Not as a toy, but as a tool that could be integrated into real business applications. I spent weeks learning the OpenAI API, experimenting with prompts, and building prototypes. Our first AI project was a customer service chatbot for a Shopify merchant that reduced their support tickets by 40%. After that, the demand for AI development kept growing.

Today, we work with ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Anthropic Claude. We build chatbots, recommendation engines, content generators, and data analysis tools. AI is not a separate service for us. It is woven into everything we build.

Giving Back to the ISP Community

As I learned more about network management, other small ISPs in Mumbai and across India started reaching out for help. They needed someone who spoke their language, someone who had been in the trenches. So I started doing training sessions. First informal, then structured programs covering MikroTik, GPON OLT management, RADIUS servers, DNS, caching, and CDN peering.

Helping other operators succeed gives me a sense of purpose that goes beyond business. I know how hard it is to run a small ISP with limited resources, and if my experience can save someone a few sleepless nights, it is worth the effort.

What Drives Me Today

Ten years in, I still get excited about technology. I still read documentation at night, still test new tools on weekends, and still personally handle critical client projects. The company has grown to 20+ people, but I have not stepped away from the work itself. I believe that a founder who stops building stops understanding.

My goal for Eyebroadband is simple: be the technology partner that I wished I had when I was starting out. Fast, reliable, honest, and always willing to go the extra mile. Whether it is laying a fiber cable to your office or building an AI app for your business, I want every client to feel like they are working with someone who genuinely cares about their success.
